Creativity is something

to shout about!

I prefer to paint rather than talk so it was with some trepidation that I recently spoke at a meeting of the Stroud Businesswomen’s Network, but there was no need to be nervous, it seems that creativity is well worth shouting about judging from the feedback.

What is creativity? Is it artistic activity, designing computer software, being able to solve complex mathematical equations? Dressing with flair? Organising events? Creating products?  The list is endless and includes a whole variety of activities. This quote from Mary Lou Cook is a good definition: “Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.”

In my view creativity is an essential part of our lives it is the energy, which helps us to generate ideas, solve problems, and create our businesses. Creativity also helps us to make choices and design the environments we live in.

As an artist, I use my creativity to paints rich colourful abstract paintings. I believe that everyone is creative which is why I have developed within Art to Inspire a programme of creativity coaching via workshops, individual sessions,  practical suggestions and much more so that people find fun, easy ways to enjoy being creative in whatever way resonates with them.
